[two eyes]
one eye, empty parking lot, ravaging birds scrambling for crumbs at the deserted, robbed grocery store
two eye, home
one eye, vile trash-can, filled with now-mushed, last week’s rotten pot-roast, scented with a bag of crooked fish bones
two eye, food
one eye, ragged clothes, more holes than wool, different colors at every section, stains everywhere, nothing to give
two eye, warmth
one eye, gang-run streets, murderers and strays, gunshots, fistfights, naive police officers, another tragedy on the news
two eye, family
one eye, scraggy man, alone in an empty parking lot, scraping remains from a flipped-over trash-can, worn-out rug over body
two eye, me
one eye, shedding the noises of a fight from the child, bullets ricocheting, screams of terror, a sea of voices flood a dying gasp
two eye, life
